The prime concepts governing design decisions for this facility were control, orientation, and flexibility. By using a system of main and secondary corridors and introducing light into the corridors at the ends and center, students become easily oriented to their position within the school.
The first floor contains those areas which generate noise or need ground-floor access for delivery. The second floor contains the academic areas, grouped around the visually open media center for easy accessibility to instructional materials. The spatial arrangement is designed to give the flexibility necessary to respond to the latest advances in teaching methods and materials.
